Odisha CM announces waiver of matric exam fees, 6 lakh students to get benefit


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced waiver of fees for annual matriculation exam 2021. Nearly 6 lakh students are expected to be benefited.

The government exchequer will bear an additional burden of Rs 27 cr for waiver of matriculation exam fees. Every student has to pay Rs 420 to sit for the matriculation exam.

Worthwhile to mention that education has suffered most along with livelihood following coronavirus pandemic. The classes for ten and twelve have started from January 8.
