Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday decided to extend the One-time cessation benefit on superannuation after 60 years of age to the employees of aided colleges receiving block grants.
As per the government decision, the pension rule meant for the full grant employee does not apply to employees of aided colleges covered under Grant-in-Aid orders in the shape of a Block Grant
A proposal has been mooted to extend the Onetime Cessation benefit to block grant employees and placed before the State Cabinet.
The cabinet on Saturday extended a One-time cessation benefit of Rs.10 lakh on superannuation after 60 years for teaching staff and Rs.5 Lakh for non-teaching staff for both retired and existing employees.
A total of 541 teaching employees and 649 non-teaching employees (already retired) and 847 existing employees will get benefits and there will be a financial outlay of Rs. 149.45 Crores during the year.
