Odisha Assembly: MLAs, OLA staff, officials to undergo RT-PCR test ahead of session

Bhubaneswar: A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was issued by the government for containing Covid ahead of the budget session of Odisha Assembly. As per the guideline, all members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly and their Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and drivers will have to undergo RT-PCR test.

The tests be conducted a special camp inside the Assembly premises by a team of doctors. The tests will be conducted between 8:30 am to 1:30 pm and between 3 pm to 5 pm on February 15 and 16.

The Health & Family Welfare Department said the coronavirus tests will continue even after the budget session of Odisha Assembly. This will be done from February 18 to March 4.

The department’s SOP said that if any member feels uncomfortable during the Assembly session, they may go for Antigen test. All the members will be provided with face-shield, mask, sanitisers and hand gloves before commencement of each sitting during the session.

The notification said the staff of the OLA Secretariat along with officers and staff of office of the Chief Minister, Ministers, Leader of Opposition, Government Chief Whip will also undergo RT-PCR test on February 15, 16 and 17.
