Bhubaneswar: The Odisha assembly witnessed ugly scenes on Saturday as shoes were hurled at the Speaker by the members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the House proceedings.
Reportedly, BLP MLAs Jaynarayan Mishra and Bishnu Sethi hurled shoes at Speaker Dr Surjya Narayan Patro.
Opposing the Odisha Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, which was passed in the House earlier in the day, BJP MLAs Bishnu Charan Sethi and Jayanarayan Mishra hurled shoes at the Speaker. Some of the opposition members also stood on the table and threw papers, pen and earphone at the speaker’s podium.
Following this unruly behaviour, the Speaker adjourned the House till 4 PM.
