Odia girl Anindita wins international poetry competition


Bhubaneswar: In another glory for Odisha, Anindita Janhavi Suara, an Odia girl who hails from Jeypore town in Koraput district has made the state and the country proud by winning an international poetry competition conducted online by the Tourist Department of United Kingdom (UK).

She won the competition for her poem ‘Voice from the Past’ which surpassed that of other finalists across the globe.

Anindita, a +2 student of VD College in Jeypore had the only competitor from India who enlisted among the 50 finalists of the “Newark and Sherwood Poetry Competition” conducted by the UK government.

She had submitted her poems online to UK Tourism department and was selected over 20,000 other participants as one of the finalists and the lone competitor from the country.
