Odia Film Editor Rabi Pattnaik Dies Of COVID-19 Related Complications

Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia film editor Rabi Pattnaik died due to COVID-19 related complications while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Pattnaik has edited several Odia films including Aarti, Mahasati Sabitri, Shankha Sindur, Sabu Maya Re Baya, School Master, Sesha Shravan, Jahaku Rakhanti Ananta, Suna Chadhei Danda Balugaon, Kathantar, etc. Similarly, he also edited several Hindi films like Aap Ki Khatir, Chalte Chalte, Kismat, Jina Isika Naam.

He started his career as a film editor with the Odia film Abhimaan, directed by Sadhu Meher and in which Uttam Mohanty had started his film career.

It is pertinent to mention that Pattnaik was awarded the ‘Jaydev Award’ in 2019 for his lifetime contribution to Ollywood.

Following the great loss, a pall of gloom descended in the Odia film industry.
