Bhubaneswar: Odisha Coal and Power Limited (OPCL), the only government-run coal company in the state government, has contributed Rs 10 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
Energy Secretary Nikunja Dhal handed over a check of Rs 10 crore drawn in favour of Odisha CMRF in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through video conferencing at a function held at Lok Sewa Bhavan on the occasion today. The amount was provided from the OCPL dividend.
The function was attended by Energy Minister Captain Dibyashankar Mishra, OCPL CEO Sariputta Mishra and other senior officers.
It is to be noted that OCPL was considered to be one of the most profitable public enterprises in the state in a very short period of time. During the coal crisis in the country, OCPL has produced more coal than the government has set for this year. Coal has been used in many industries in and outside the state
The OCPL also continues its efforts to empower women and youth in Sundergarh district through a variety of approaches.
