Top seed Novak Djokovic continued his charge towards gold at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday with a straight-set win over Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff.

Djokovic won the match 6-4, 6-3 as he looks to win his first Olympic gold and maintain course for a potential Golden Slam this year.

The world number one is aiming to become the first man to win all four majors and the Olympics in the same season, a feat achieved by Steffi Graf in 1988.

Interestingly, Djokovic was just one-year-old when Steffi Graf achieved the so far first and only Golden Slam in tennis history.

“I am full of confidence and motivated to represent Serbia in the best possible way,” Djokovic said according to Olympics.com. “I am yearning for a medal in Tokyo, hopefully gold, and then I’ll go to New York aiming to complete it all,” he added.

Djokovic’s next opponent will be 16th-seeded Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain, who defeated John Millman of Australia 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-3
