Bhubaneswar: Bharatpur police have apprehended a car thief and seized a four-wheeler from his possession in the state capital, Bhubaneswar.

The arrestee has been identified as Amit Kumar Nayak (27) of Ghatikia area under local police station limits.

As per reports, the matter came to the fore after one Rudra Nayak lodged a complaint with the local police station regarding his car theft.

Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and launched a probe in this connection. Later, police managed to nab the accused and recovered the stolen car from his possession.

There are several pending theft cases against the accused in the different police stations in the city, sources said.
