Seoul: North Korea has tested long-range multiple rocket launchers, state media said on Sunday. These are tactical guided weapons, the media reports said.
The testing of long range rocket launchers was overseen by the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Media reports said the drill took place in the East Sea, known as the Sea of Japan, with the projectiles.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, the drill took place on Saturday.
Media reports said this could be Pyongyang’s first missile launch for more than a year as it seeks to put up pressure on Washington with the summit level talks deadlocked.
Media reports said the purpose of the drill was to estimate and inspect the operating ability of the system.
