North Korea expresses frustration over nuclear talks

Seoul: North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, expressing deep frustration over stalled nuclear talks, has warned of unspecified action to be revealed soon.

Kim said the ‘strategic weapon’ to the world will be a nuclear deterrent in face of ‘gangster-like’ US pressure. The North Korean leader said he is no longer obligated to maintain a self-imposed suspension on the testing of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles.

But Kim gave no clear indication that a resumption of such tests was impending and appeared to leave the door open for eventual negotiations.

Kim’s arsenal is now estimated to include 40-50 nuclear bombs and various delivery systems. The ICBMs are potentially capable of reaching the US mainland, reports said.
