Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Friday issued strict instructions to various Puja committees over the use of high pitch loudspeakers, bands and orchestra parties during this festive season.
Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh asked the puja organizers in the Capital city to use low sound loudspeakers system having sound limiters during the Puja celebrations. The sound should not exceed the limit of 65 decibels, he added. The music parties can play four to five loudspeaker boxes.
Similarly, one pandal can take out an immersion procession with only one band party and one music system. No pandal can use more than six trolleys during the immersion procession. Use of flashlights will be strictly restricted during immersion procession, the DCP said.
Moreover, the music parties which are registered under the twin city Commissionerate Police will be allowed to participate in the festival. No music party will be permitted to play songs within 100 metres radius of the silence zone (hospital, schools, court etc), he clarified.
Band parties, music parties or DJs cannot perform on the national highway under any circumstances, the DCP maintained.
Anyone found violating the order will be strictly dealt with, the DCP warned.
