Bhubaneswar: Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Tuesday handed over a set of norms to Durga Puja organiser with the emphasis of a complete ban on DJs during the festival this year.
The decision was taken in a meeting held at the Police Commissionerate Building here yesterday.
In the meeting, Sarangi discussed the safety and security measures and other preparations for Puja with senior police officials and puja committees of the city.
Three members of each puja committee will be imparted training on security measures.
For better security arrangement, CCTV cameras at prominent puja pandals will be installed, Police Commissionerate Sarangi added.
Notably, The Durga Puja will begin from October 5. While the Mahashtami is on October 6 and Dussehra on October 8, the immersion of the goddess idol will take place on October 9.
