Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple was kept out of bound from devotees today (Sunday) as the temple administration closed the shrine for sanitization.
“Devotees will not be required to submit Covid negative report to enter Srimandir from January 21. They can have darshan of the deities from 7 am and 30,000 devotees will be allowed to enter the temple every day. A separate queue will be made for senior citizens,” said the SJTA Chief in a notification passed on January 21.
All the Covid SOPs are however being strictly followed in the temple.
Reportedly, Srimandir has been made accessible to all the devotees as the district administration withdrew the mandatory production of Covid-19 negative certificate as a precondition for entry into the 12th-century shrine.
