No cases of bird flu detected in Odisha so far

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Friday clarified that no cases of bird flu (Avian Influenza)has been detected in the state so far.

According to officials, as many as 12,158 samples have been tested during the current bird migratory season and all samples have been tested negative for bird flu.

“General public are requested not to be panic and consume chicken meat, eggs and other poultry products with proper cooking. They are requested to report any unnatural death of birds to the nearest veterinary doctor / chief district veterinary officer or to the state control room on 0671 2414310 and WhatsApp number 72055 98125.,” said an official.

People can also contact Dr Bibhu Ranjan Das (79782 06404), Dr Sagarika Behera (79781 05538) and Dr Madan Mohan Mahapatra (94373 13183) of Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Cuttack for any information regarding bird flu.
