Cuttack: Markatnagar Police on Monday started an investigation after the body of a woman lecturer of National Law University, Odisha (NLUO) was recovered from her rented accommodation in CDA area in Cuttack. The deceased has been identified as Ananya Chakraborty who hailed from West Bengal.

Ananya’s body was recovered from her rented house at CDA sector-9. Sources said that the room was locked and had to be broken. It was for the last two years that Ananya was working at NLUO at Cuttack’s Naraj.

For the last two days, she was not going to her university. Only after Ananya did not responded to the repeated calls, the NLUO officials alerted police who then reached the spot.

Sources said that Ananya was going through a rough phase in her domestic life as far as her marriage was concerned. She and her husband had decided to stay separately after divorce around three months ago.

Police have sent the body to SCB Cuttack for autopsy and informed the deceased’s family in connection with the incident.
