Bhubaneswar: The National Law University (NLU) Odisha on Saturday carried out tree plantation programme on its campus as part of Van Mahotsav celebration.
Van Mahotsav is celebrated in India from July 1 to 7 as a campaign with the ambition to save the mother earth. The NLU Odisha celebrated the programme in association with Rashtriya Kisan Parivar.
The Vice-Chancellor of NLU Odisha, Prof. Dr Sri Krishna Deva Rao inaugurated the programme with a welcome address where he encouraged to preserve trees, which play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance.
Cuttack Lok Sabha MP Bhartuhari Mahtab graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his speech, he put emphasis on creating a herbal garden on the campus.
Students, volunteers of Rashtriya Kisan Parivar, teaching and non-teaching staff members of the university including the dignitaries enthusiastically participated in the plantation of trees.
