New Delhi: The Nirbhaya convicts scheduled to be hanged on February 1 have not yet wished to meet their family nor willing their property.
Sources said the four Nirbhaya case convicts have not replied to such questions.
Tihar jail authorities said the rules allow death row convicts to choose which family member they want to meet for the last time. Convicts are also asked to state whether they want to leave their property to anyone, they added.
Sources said the convicts Mukesh Singh, Vinay Sharma, Akshay Singh and Pawan Gupta were silent. This is being done to suggest that they remain hopeful of buying more time, sources added.
The government has approached the Supreme Court for a change in guidelines in death row cases so that the convicts cannot keep delaying the sentence by exploiting legal options.
