Nirav Modi’s extradition request sent to London court

New Delhi: The UK home secretary has recently sent the fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi’s extradition request to London court, according to official sources.

The  British media reports said that Modi is living in a posh 8-million pound apartment in London’s West End. He has started his diamond business in the city.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) sources said they were officially informed about UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid’s move to forward the case to a London court about two days back.

Modi, 48, is currently living in a three-bedroom flat occupying half of a floor of the landmark Centre Point tower block. The rent is estimated to cost 17,000 pounds a month there.

The revelation comes a day after Modi’s 30,000 sq ft seaside mansion at Kihim beach was pulled down by authorities using explosives as it violated  coastal regulation rules.
