New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday filed a chargesheet against two individuals associated with the Kuyemari area committee of the banned terrorist group CPI (Maoist).
The chargesheet pertains to the arrest of two Maoist cadres caught transporting arms and explosives intended for an assault on security forces in the Naxal-affected area of Chhattisgarh.
The accused have been identified as Vinod Awalam and Ashu Korsa.
The charge sheet was submitted to the Special Court in Jagdalpur under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act, the Explosive Substances Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P) Act).
Both accused are members of CPI (Maoist) and are alleged to have been involved in planning attacks on security forces. They were apprehended along with weapons and other incriminating materials from Mujalgondi village in Kanker district.
The two accused were part of the protection and supply team for senior CPI (Maoist) leaders and were planning to execute terrorist attacks on security forces in coordination with other cadres of the CPI (Maoist), a proscribed terrorist organization by the Government of India.
