Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the role and responsibility of the print media during this crucial juncture, the Odisha Government has included newspaper distribution under the essential services.
Odisha government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19, Subroto Bagchi today informed that the distribution of newspapers has been included in the list of essential services during the lockdown period.
He said: “Vehicles carrying the newsprints and newspapers are allowed to ply without any obstruction. Newspaper sale counters will operate from 7 AM to 8 AM and hawkers are allowed to move to the lifting point and for distribution of the newspapers between 4 AM to 7 AM.”
Bagchi further advised the hawkers to maintain social distancing and handwashing strictly as per the advisory issued by the Information and Public Relations Department, in this regard.
