Newly Married Woman Decamps With Cash, Jewelleries


Bhubaneswar: A newly married woman allegedly decamped with cash and jewelleries just after four days of marriage. The incident has been reported from Rajnagar under Khandahgiri police station limits here.

The accused woman has been identified as Soudamini Barik (22) alias mama daughter of Bhuvneswar Barik .

According to available information, one Santosh tied a nuptial knot with Soudamini on May 7.

Reportedly, on the fourth day of marriage, Soudamini complained her in-laws about having a headache. Following this, her in-laws gave her a head massage and she allegedly acted to have fallen asleep. A few minutes later, power went off. Taking advantage of the situation, Soudamini decamped with a bag filled with cash and jewelleries.

The family members came to know about the incident after they made a frantic search for her when she was not found in the house for long.

Following this, the family member of the groom lodged a written complaint with the local police station. On the basis of the FIR, police registered a case and launched a probe in this regard.
