Nayagarh: A newborn boy was reported missing from the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Rajsunakhala in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Saturday.
Sudhismita Parida from Godabhanga village was admitted to the hospital by her husband, Bijay Parida, on Friday due to labour pains. She delivered a baby boy the following morning.
However, shortly after the birth, the newborn vanished. The family discovered the baby was missing upon their arrival.
In response, Bijay and his wife filed a complaint at the local police station, claiming that their baby had been abducted from the hospital.
Bijay accused the hospital authorities of negligence, stating, “We were not permitted to see the baby after his birth. The hospital staff informed us that he was taken for treatment, but afterwards, he was nowhere to be found.”
The police, acting on the couple’s complaint, arrived at the scene and reviewed CCTV footage to determine how the baby was taken. They are currently interrogating the hospital staff.
