Residents of Rayagada city woke up in shock today after discovering the body of a newborn baby boy lying by the roadside in Godavarish Nagar.

Local people spotted the infant early in the morning and immediately informed the police. Officers reached the site, recovered the body, and began an investigation. Authorities are trying to determine whether the baby was stillborn or killed after birth.

Witnesses said the mother delivered the child and then abandoned him by the roadside before fleeing. The incident has sparked outrage in the locality, with residents condemning the act as inhuman and demanding strict action.

Police confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Investigators are working to trace the mother and establish the circumstances behind the tragedy.
