New Covid strain: Canada extends UK flight suspension until January 6
Ottawa: Canada has extended suspension of flights to UK until January 6 following the new fast-spreading coronavirus strain sweeping Britain.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his country would prolong its suspension of passenger flights from the UK until early January.
Canada is among dozens of nations to have imposed travel restrictions as Britain grapples with the novel strain.
Canada meanwhile became the second country to greenlight the Moderna vaccine Wednesday, just two weeks after it authorized immunizations with the Pfizer/BioNTech shot.
