Malkangiri: An abandoned new-born girl was rescued from a forest near Tandapalli chowk in Malkangiri district today.
Reportedly, the matter came to the fore after a woman heard the newborn crying and rescued her from the forest.
Later, she informed a local social worker, Purnima Saha, who called up the Childline and alerted them about the same.
Later, police along with the childline workers reached the spot and sent the newborn to Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
