Nepal’s Kami Rita Sherpa scales Mount Everest for 23rd time


Kathmandu: 49-year-old mountaineer from Nepal climbed the Mount Everest for the 23rd time on Wednesday, breaking his own record for most summits of the world’s highest mountain.

As per reports, Kami Rita Sherpa from Thame village of Solukhumbu district successfully climbed Mt Everest on Wednesday morning at around 7.30 am from Nepal side.

Last year, Sherpa had climbed Mt Everest for the 22nd time and became the only Mountaineer in the world to hold the record for most summits on Mt Everest.

Kami Rita has already climbed most of the peaks above 8,000 m including K2, Cho-oyu, Lhoste and Annapurna among others.
