Bolangir: In a queer case of negligence, a three-year-old girl, who went to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital, was prescribed medicines meant for quinquagenarian persons.
Reports said the minor girl, hailing from Chimney Bhatipada area, complained of cold following which her parents took her to the hospital. Later, she gave blood and urine samples for medical tests.
The doctors also prescribed the medicines for the ailing child. But to her parents’ surprise, it was found that the medicines were meant for a 53-year-old and 56-year-old patients respectively.
After realising the lackadaisical attitude of the staffers at the hospital, the minor’s parents complained about the same to the authorities, sources said.
The authorities have accepted their fault, sources added.
