New Delhi: The NCP chief Sharad Pawar has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has sought his intervention on farmers’ distress in Maharashtra.
Pawar’s meeting with PM Modi on Wednesday has come amid Maharashtra imbroglio.
In a letter addressed to the PM, Pawar said:”Due to the prevalence of Presidential Rule in the state, your urgent intervention is highly necessitated. I shall be grateful if you take immediate steps to initiate massive relief measures and ameliorate the miseries of the distressed farmers”.
The meeting comes just two days after PM Modi lavished praises on NCP and BJD for their modest behavior in Parliament during debates and discussion in Parliament. PM Modi said this in an address to mark the 250th session of Rajya Sabha.
