Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik on Friday urged the newly appointed Odisha Civil Service officers to work for the people.
Handing over appointment letters to successful candidates in OAS 2017 exam here at Jayadev Bhawan Patnaik advised the young administrative officers to build a close rapport with the people and strive to solve their problem with courage and patience.
The Odisha Chief Minister said his government is the peoples’ government and added that the focus of his dispensation is always on development.
Dwelling upon his government’s mantra on 5-T, the BJD supremo said the emphasis is on Technology, Transparency, Teamwork, Transformation and Time and exhorted the future administrative officials of the state to implement programmes focusing on the principle.
Patnaik said as long as these principles are implemented properly, our aim and objective of serving the poorest of the poor of the state will never be defeated. He hoped that the young officials will come up to his expectations and serve the people with dedication.
The programme was attended by minister of food, civil supplies and cooperation Ranedra Pratap Swain, Revenue minister Sudam Marndi, minister of state for power, MSME and Home Divyashankar Mishra, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and Development Commissioner Asit Tripathy. Special Secretary, General Administration, SN Girish, had delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
Out of the 102 candidates successfully completing the exam conducted by Odisha Civil Service, 42 are women and 4 belong to differently abled. While 36 candidates qualified OAS, 9 got OPS and 24 OFS. Three candidates qualified for Cooperative Service, 20 for Revenue Service and 14 for Tax and Accounts Services.
