Naveen promises to directly monitor Kendrapara’s development

Bhubaneswar: BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today resumed his election campaigning in the Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency and promised to look after Kendrapara’s development.

The Biju Janata Dal President embarked on a marathon roadshow on the hi-tech bus and covered Gulnagar, Indupur, Gogua, Pattamundei, Patrapur and Aul this morning. Later, in the afternoon, the roadshow was also held from Aul via Rajkanika and Olavar.

During the mega rally across Kendrapara district, the Odisha CM said, “The BJP leaders throng to the State during election time but disappear during natural calamities. They did not come to Odisha during cyclones, floods or drought. However, they are now frequenting for votes.”

“Are only the votes of people of Odisha valuable for BJP, not their well-being?” Naveen questioned.

“Kendrapara is known as the “Karmabhumi” of former Chief Minister late Biju Patnaik (fondly called Biju babu). The people of Kendrapara are also self-esteemed like Biju Babu. That same relationship still persists. I will directly monitor the development of Kendrapara for which I need your blessings,” Patnaik promised the sea of people and urged them to vote for the ‘conch’ symbol twice- once for MP and once for MLA.

The BJD has fielded Ollywood superstar Anubhav Mohanty as it Lok Sabha candidate from Kendrapara. The Kendrapada Lok Sabha constituency comprises seven Assembly segments — Salipur, Mahanga, Patkura, Kendrapara, Aul, Rajanagar and Mahakalapada.

It is pertinent to mention here that campaigning for the fourth and last of polls ends today at 5 pm. Six Lok Sabha constituencies and 41 assembly segments under them will go to polls on April 29.
