Naveen performs ground-breaking of 17 industrial projects, inaugurates five projects

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday performed the groundbreaking of 17 major industrial projects and inaugurated five projects.

The projects are ranging from Metal and downstream, Tourism, Textile and apparel, Cement, Plastic and Food processing sectors. In a major boost to the Make in Odisha, these 22 industrial units with a combined investment of INR 13,311.53 Crore will generate employment opportunities for 10,677 persons in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “I am pleased that step by step, we are going high with impressive investments in the manufacturing sector, making the position of our State stronger as a Manufacturing Hub of India. Our consistent efforts to improve the investment ecosystem laced with our peaceful social climate are paying off to realize our desired goal.”

He further added that, “I am glad that, at the 11th phase of groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony today, we are launching 22 industrial projects with an investment of over Rs 13 thousand crore that can create jobs for over 10 thousand 6 hundred persons. The Mo Sarkar and 5T Initiatives of my Government are solidly in place to effectively streamline the investment facilitation mechanism in the State. We must ensure that the Citizens and Businesses are provided services from the Government in a hassle-free and time-bound manner. Towards this objective, the launching of the mobile version of GO PLUS, the land bank information system will be particularly helpful for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the State.”

Minister of Energy, Industries, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra, added, “Over the past few months, the state under the 5T charter and Mo Sarkar initiative, developed and enabled online registration and approval systems for over 30 Government to Business services. These systems will now ensure hassle-free and prompt services for industries right from the state Department level to the district and block levels. Further, the state Single Window System GO SWIFT has been further streamlined and now provides over 50 services covering 18 Departments through an end-to-end online mechanism with no need for any physical touchpoint between the applicant and the approving authority.”

The other dignitaries were present in the ceremony were, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Industries dept Principal Secretary Hemant Sharma, IDCO CMD Sanjay Kumar Singh, MSME dept Principal Secretary Satyabrat Sahu, & IPICOL MD Dr Nitin Jawale.

The projects that were inaugurated including:

  • A logistic park by KTL Logistics and Services Limited(Purvi Bharat) against an investment of INR 182.28 crore in Choudwar, Cuttack, which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 850 persons.
  • A five-star hotel in Bhubaneswar by Lifeline Multi-ventures Pvt. Ltd. against an investment of INR 150.38 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 240 persons.
  • A Pellet plant Expansion from 0.3 MTPA to 1.2 MTPA capacity by Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited against an investment of INR 76.92 crore in Pandloi, Dist – Sambalpur, which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 610 persons.
  • A Water and Amusement Park by Fun Leela Water Park against an investment of INR 4.49 crore in Lahandabud, Jharsuguda, which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 33 persons.
  • A Waste Plastic Recycling plant by Lackeir Stilit Plastic Industry against an investment of INR 1.60 crore in Rambha Ganjam, which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 78 persons

The projects for which ground-breaking was done are:

  • Expansion of Jindal Stainless’s Crude Stainless Steel capacity From 1.1 MTPA to 3.2 MTPA and Cold Rolling Mill capacity from 0.8 MTPA to 2.4 MTPA in Kalinganagar, Jajpur by Jindal Stainless Ltd against an investment of INR 6,840 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 2,236 persons.
  • Expansion of Yazdani Steel & Power’s Integrated steel plant from 0.07 MTPA to 1.19 MTPA in Kalinganagar, Jajpur by Yazdani Steel & Power Limited against an investment of INR 2,415 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 2867 persons.
  • Additional Clinker capacity of 1.32 MTPA and Cement capacity of 1.05 MTPA at Kutra, Sundergarh by Shiva Cement Limited (SCL) against an investment of INR 1,523.24 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 600 persons.
  • Expansion of MGM Minerals’s project by setting up 0.125 MTPA Sponge Iron Plant, 0.6 MTPA Pellet Plant, 0.25 MTPA MS Billets, 0.25 MTPA TMT & Wire Rods and 40 MW Captive Power Plant at Nimdha, Dhenkanal by MGM Minerals Limited against an investment of INR 801.89 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 1215 persons.
  • Expansion of GM Iron & Steel’s project by setting up 0.8 MTPA Pellet Plant, 0.2379 MTPA DRI plant, 0.195 MTPA Billet, 0.24 MTPA Wire Rod Mill, 0.416 MTPA Slag Cement and 46 MW Captive Power Plant at Parjang, Dhenkanal by GM Iron & Steel Company Limited against an investment of INR 607.52 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 591 persons.
  • Cement grinding unit of 2.5 MTPA capacity at Biswali, Cuttack by Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited against an investment of INR 441.43 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 141 persons.
  • Expansion of project by setting up 0.21 MTPA Sponge Iron,1 MTPA Iron ore Beneficiation,0.6 MTPA Pellet, 0.112 MTPA MS Billets, 0.112 MTPATMT, 50 TPH Coal Washery, and 24 MW Captive Power Plant at Tumkela, Sundergarh by BR Sponge and Power Limited against an investment of INR 200.20 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 550 persons.
  • Aluminium Extrusion plant at Chhatabar, Khordha by Excellence Engimac Pvt Ltd against an investment of INR 12.25 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 104 persons.
  • A Lithium Battery, Solar Panel & Inverter manufacturing unit at Info valley II, Khordha by Surya International against an investment of INR 11.44 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 213 persons.
  • An Amusement park by RR Amusement Park in Bolangir against an investment of INR 10.44 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 45 persons.
  • A Manufacturing unit of PVC, HDPE and LDPE products at Ganeswarpur, Balasore by Pallavi Polymers against an investment of INR 8.76 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 52 persons.
  • A unit for Manufacturing of PP compound & PVC/HDPP plastic composite board unit at Choudwar, Cuttack by Sushant Minerals P Ltd against an investment of INR 6.50 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 45 persons.
  • Establishment of a stabilising Ageners, cakes, Emulsifiers & Bakery powder manufacturing unit at Chhatabar, Khordha by T.P. Ingredients Pvt Ltd against an investment of INR 4.91 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 62 persons.
  • A discontinuous Line PUF panel at Ramdaspur, Cuttack by Supuf Industries Pvt Ltd against an investment of INR 4.53 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 46 persons.
  • Manufacturing of plastic tank, rotomoulded products at Chhatabar, Khordha by Lisa Plastics against an investment of INR 3 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 40 persons.
  • A transformer manufacturing unit at Jaymangal, Khordha by Ranganath Transformers Pvt Ltd against an investment of INR 2.44 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 25 persons.
  • A Bottle Jar, Cane, Cap Closure, Key Chain manufacturing unit at Kurki, Puri by Karubaki Enterprises against an investment of INR 2.31 crore which will generate potential employment opportunities for over 33 persons.

IPICOL has recently launched the mobile version of GO-PLUS, a web-based platform to display real-time information about the industrial land available in the State. IDCO has created a land bank of 1,00,000 acres for industrial use.

Odisha is fast emerging as the ‘Manufacturing Hub of Eastern India’. Targeting the development of a conducive business environment for industrial development, the Government has always endeavoured to provide a hassle-free and conducive business environment for the investors in Odisha.
