Naveen Inaugurates “Akhyara” Book Fair in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the “Akhyara” Book Fair organised by the Department of Odia Language Literature and Culture at the Unit-III Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “I have very happy to join the “Akhyara” Book Fair. As you know, we are celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a matter of joy that, on this occasion, a special platform has been opened on this subject.”
“Gandhiji was a prolific writer and every piece of his writing carries the message of humanity and sparkles with positivity. I wish our young generation read, know, and understand Gandhi and work for a better world, the Odisha CM said.
Book fair is a fair of knowledge. I hope, Akhyara will be successful in making the people aware of various new arrays of knowledge, Naveen concluded.
In the inaugural ceremony, Tourism and Culture Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi and other dignitaries were present. They also explored a photo exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi’s life organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
Eminent Gandhian, Krishna Mohanty, who was the special guest of the event, presented three books on Mahatma Gandhi’s life, published by Sahitya Academy, to the Chief Minister.
