Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo & Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday chaired Parliamentary Party Meeting to decide its strategy for the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament.
The meeting was attended by MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Reportedly, the conch party has fixed its strategy ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament.
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will demand inclusion of ‘Ho’ languages in 8th Schedule of Constitution, 33% reservation for women in Parliament, among others during the Parliament Budget session.
BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra said the Parliamentary meet of the party also decided to raise accordance of Special Category State status to Odisha and setting up Legislative Council in the state.
Sources said the issues like coal royalty, setting up of international airport in Puri, implementation of Swaminathan Committee report and waiver of GST on Kendu leaves will also be raised in the Parliament during Budget Session.
