Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a hike the dearness allowance (DA) by five per cent for the state government employees and pensioners.
A notification issued by the Government said the DA hike will come into effect retrospectively from January 1, 2020.
In addition to the hike, 10 per cent arrears of 7th Pay commission will also be rolled out.
Odisha government employees can now get 10 per cent of their arrear salary arising out of revision of pay under Odisha Revised Scales of Pay Rules (ORSP), 2017, during the financial year 2019-20.
As per the policymakers, the allowance is designed to offset the impact of price rise on essential commodities and food items.
