Navaratri Special: Make Boondi Raita 


New Delhi: Boondi Raita is one of the easiest Raita Varieties. It’s a yogurt dip enriched with deep-fried crispy boondi.  


  • Boondi – 1 cup (refer how to make boondi) 
  • Thick Curd/plain yogurt – 1 1/2 cup or as needed 
  • Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp 
  • Roasted cumin powder -3/4 tsp 
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp finely chopped 
  • Salt to taste 


  1. Whisk curd until smooth. 
  2. Add half of the chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and mix well. 
  3. Add boondi (ready-made boondi or homemade boondi), salt needed and mix well. Garnish with the remaining chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and finely chopped coriander leaves. 
  4. Serve chilled with any pulao, biryani or parathas. 
  5. You can prepare this 15-20 minutes before your meals and refrigerate it. 
  6. If you prefer crispy boondis, add boondi to the spiced yogurt before serving.
