Nandankanan Zoo: Another anaconda dies, special team from Chennai is likely to visit

Barang: One more anaconda (female) died at the Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Zoo officials said that a post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.

One out of the eight anacondas that were brought from Madras Crocodile Bank Trust, two have died and three more reptiles are stated to be unwell.

The zoo veterinarians have kept a close eye on their health, the officials said. A special team from Chennai is likely to visit the zoo soon to review the situation.

Earlier, one anaconda (unsex) died at the zoo on November 28.

Apart from the eight anacondas (Five females, two males, and one unsex), the Nandankanan Zoological park had brought three Nile crocodiles in the month of October.
