Jharsuguda: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police probing the sensational murder of State Cabinet Minister Naba Das today recreated the scene of crime at Gandhi Chowk in Brajrajnagar in the district.
The probe team took the accused to the spot where he had allegedly shot the minister day. The Accused, Gopal Das had shown how he perpetrated the crime from close range in the crowd.
The investigating agency carried out the crime scene recreation as a part of the ongoing inquiry into the high-profile murder case.
Gopal who is currently under the Crime Branch custody has shown the crime scene to the police. Crime scene recreation also included how accused ASI Gopal Das tried to flee by scaring others with his pistol and got overpowered by two other policemen.
The CB team has conducted the Forensic Psychological Assessment and LVA Test of the accused Gopal. A special Medical Board has been constituted to study the mental health of the accused, an official said.
Naba Das, a three-time MLA from the Jharsuguda constituency and said to be an influential leader was shot at in Brajarajnagar in the Jharsuguda district and succumbed to his bullet injuries in Bhubaneswar hospital on January 29.
