Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch, which has initiated a probe into the espionage case of Chandipur in Balasore district matter, on Saturday informed that five accused arrested in DRDO espionage incident were produced before court today and if required, they will again be taken on remand for interrogation.
Crime Branch Additional Director General (ADG) Sanjeeb Panda said,” The ‘mysterious’ woman used to video call two of the accused frequently. Claiming that she is a resident of Balasore district, the woman had invited one of the accused persons to meet her at her residence in Chandipur.”
Further investigation is underway to get details of the UK phone number and the bank account in Dubai, from where one of the accused had received a cash transfer of around Rs 38,000.
Meanwhile, the officials of the probe agency is reportedly trying to trace the source of the UK number through which the agent was establishing communication with the five accused.
