Mumbai: Raid Unearths Rs 10 Cr Cash From Office Floor, Wall

Mumbai: The state Goods and Services Tax (GST) and income-tax (I-T) investigation wing have seized nearly Rs 9.8 crore unaccounted cash and 19 kg silver bricks worth Rs 13 lakh stashed in secret compartments on the floor and a wall of a bullion trader’s 35 sq ft office at Kalbadevi here.

During recent scrutiny of transactions of suspicious companies, state GST officials had zeroed in on Chamunda Bullion as its turnover had jumped from Rs 23 lakh to Rs 1,764 crore in the last three financial years.

Reportedly, the premises of the company has been sealed and further investigation into the incident is underway.
