Mumbai Police clamp Section 144 ahead of MNS chief’s interrogation


Mumbai: Mumbai Police have clamped Section 144 ahead of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray’s interrogation by Enforcement Directorate.

Raj Thackeray is set to be questioned by the ED in connection with a money laundering case on Thursday. The Mumbai Police have not left any stone unturned to ensure peace and order in the city.

The police have banned unlawful assembly of more than 5 people outside the office of the Enforcement Directorate in south Mumbai where Raj Thackeray will be interrogated.

As a precautionary measure, the police also detained MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande ahead of Thackeray’s questioning. The police have also warned MNS leaders and workers against breaking law and order situation in the interim period.

Deshpande was taken into custody by the police in Shivaji Park to avoid law-and-order setbacks following reports that the MNS would protest against the ED summons.
