Ranchi: India’s former captain MS Dhoni has been rested for the fourth and fifth ODIs of the ongoing five-match series against Australia.
Addressing a press conference after the third ODI against Australia in Ranchi on Friday, Indian cricket team batting coach Sanjay Banga said, “We will have some changes in the last two games. Mahi (Dhoni) will not be playing in the last two games. He will be taking rest.”
As per the report, Rishabh Pant, who was named in the 15-man squad, will replace Dhoni for the rest two ODIs, which will be played in Mohali and Delhi on March 10 and 13, respectively.
India was bowled out for 281 runs after being handed a target of 314 runs by Australia. Skipper Virat Kohli was the highest run-scorer for the hosts scoring 123 runs off 95 deliveries.
Although, skipper Virat Kohli scored his 41st ODI century but in vain as the team lost the third One Day International (ODI) by 32 runs.
