Bhubaneswar: The censor board has cleared ways for ‘Mindgame’, a bilingual flick based on 2018’s sensational Patnagarh parcel bomb case of Bolangir district.

The movie stars Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni, Sunita Krishnan and Ollywood actor Manoj Mishra in prominent roles will soon hit the theatres.

As per reports, filmmaker Rajesh Touchriver had pitched titles like ‘Bullet Raja’, ‘Patnagarh’, but the censor board approved ‘Mindgame’ which will release in Telugu and Odia languages simultaneously.

A powerful explosion took place at the residence of one Soumya Shekhar Sahu at Patnagarh on February 23, 2018. The explosion, triggered when Sahu opened a parcel, was powerful and severely damaged the room. Sahu and his grandmother Jemamani suffered severe injuries in the blast and died on way to hospital.

About two months later, police arrested Punjlal Meher on April 24, 2018, accusing him to be the mastermind behind the parcel bomb explosion. Police claimed the crime was committed out of workplace rivalry, as Sahu’s mother had replaced the Meher, an English professor, as principal at Jyoti Vikash Junior College at Bhainsa.

Notably, the movie was screened at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival on Thursday after it was dropped from the 26th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) last year after it could not get cleared at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie will also be screened at Sisir Mancha at 6:30 pm on Sunday.
