Bhubaneswar: Body of Odisha mountaineer Kalpana Dash, that was brought to Kathmandu on Thursday, will reach Bhubaneswar today late in the evening.
According to sources, the body is expected to reach the Biju Patnaik International Airport here at around 9 pm today. Following this, Kalpana’s body will be kept at Kalinga Stadium from 9 pm to 10.30 pm for public viewing, informed Odisha Sports department today.
The three-member team including Kalpana’s brother will leave for Delhi from Kathmandu today and will depart from Delhi airport by evening.
Post mortem and other necessary official procedures were completed by Nepal authorities in Kathmandu and the death certificate was handed over to the Indian embassy.
Notably, Kalpana died while descending the Mt. Everest on May 23. Kalpana, who was a member of the ‘Three Women Expedition’ locally managed by Dreamers Destination Treks, died near the balcony area while descending from the summit point.
