New Delhi: Minister of State (MoS) for Defence Shripad Naik has supported Army Chief General MM Naravane’s remark to reclaim PoK.
Naik, on Tuesday said the Army Chief was not wrong in saying that the Army could reclaim PoK if the government issued orders. He added that the government will give due consideration to the Army chief’s thoughts.
Gen Naravane had told the media on January 11: “There is a parliamentary resolution that entire Jammu and Kashmir is part of India. If Parliament wants it, then, that area (PoK) also should belong to us. When we get orders to that effect, we’ll take appropriate action”.
His comments had invited ire from the Congress party which hit out at the newly-appointed Army Chief saying ‘he should speak less and work more’.
