Monsoon Withdrawal From Northwest India From Oct 6: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that the conditions are favourable for the commencement of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from some parts of Northwest India from October 6, 2021.

According to the IMD release, the north-south trough from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim to north interior Odisha has become less marked.

Light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm has occurred at a few places over the districts of Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh and Malkangiri in the past 24 hours, the release said.

Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours. A yellow warning has also been issued for several districts of the State till October 7, the release adedd.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 04.10.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.10.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Angul, Dhenkanal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.10.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 06.10.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.10.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.10.2021)

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha till October 8, IMD said.
