Mobile Theft Gang Busted In Bhubaneswar, One Minor Among 7 Held

Bhubaneswar: As many as seven persons including a minor were arrested by police on the charges of looting mobile phones from various areas in the Odisha capital.

Besides, the cops also seized a bike and 13 cellphones.

The arrested accused persons have been identified as Bhagyabaan Mishra, Sagar Bisoi, Jitendra Sahu, Durga Shankar Majhi, Satyajit Mohanty, Gyanaranjan Champati, and a minor.

According to available information, several complaints have been lodged regarding mobile phone theft in various police station limits in Bhubaneswar.

Reportedly, one Syamsundar Sarkar’s phone was stolen by some miscreants on 16 February. Following this, he lodged a complaint with the local police station.

On the basis of the complaint, police laid a trap and put the phone on tracking to nab the gang. After pertinent efforts, cops managed to apprehend the looters. The cops also seized a bike and 13 Smartphones from their possession.

A case has been registered and the accused persons have been forwarded to court, police said
