New Delhi: Poll strategist Prashant Kishor held a five-hour-long meeting with top Congress leaders such as Priyanka Gandhi, Ambika Soni, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala at 10 Janpath on Monday.
This comes amid reports of Kishor joining the party ahead of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This was the second meeting held by Congress with Kishor in three days.
Kishor has pitched a proposal under which, sources said, the Congress can contest 370 seats and have coalitions with friendly parties in particular states.
According to sources, meetings are being held to chalk out a strategy for the 2024 general elections. Congress party has also asked poll strategist Prashant Kishor to join the party. This came after Prashant Kishor gave a detailed presentation on Lok Sabha elections during the meeting held at Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s residence on Saturday.
Kishor in his detailed presentation had reportedly stated that Congress should fight alone in Bihar, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh but form alliances in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and even Bengal.
It was Rahul Gandhi who had dropped a hint for the first time about ‘United Opposition front’ on April 8 when he had gone to meet another Opposition leader Sharad Yadav at his residence in Delhi.
