Puri: Unidentified miscreants on Thursday allegedly looted the donation box of a temple near Paschim Dwara (West Gate) of the Puri Srimandir.
As per reports, the miscreants barged into Biswashanti Akhanda Harinama Sankirtan temple near the West Gate and cut open the donation box kept inside the temple, and decamped with the money. However, the exact amount of money stored in the box has not been ascertained.
A complaint has been lodged at the Singhadwar police station in this regard.
Earlier in April, miscreants had also broken open the donation box of 10th-century temple-Mausi Maa shrine and decamped with around Rs 4,000 cash. The looters had broken the lock on the main door to gain entry into the temple which is situated around 500 metres away from the Srimandir.
