Miscreants decamp with Rs 13 lakh from two SBI ATMs in Odisha


Berhampur: Miscreants have looted Rs 13 lakh from two SBI ATMs in Berhampur and Sundergarh districts on Monday night.

According to reports, a group of unidentified miscreants last night looted cash worth Rs 5 Lakh from an ATM of State Bank of India located at Haladiapadar in Berhampur town of Ganjam district.

The matter came to light this morning when some locals noticed the ATM broken. On being informed, the police reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter.

It is suspected that cash worth of Rs 5 lakh has been stolen from the ATM, said a bank official.

In another incident, miscreants last night failed to loot another ATM of SBI near Gopalpur junction. They fled the spot after spotting police patrolling van.

Besides, another ATM loot bid was failed in the district after miscreants failed to bloke open the machine by using gas cutters.

Similarly, Rs 8 lakh was looted from Kuanrmunda SBI ATM in Sundergarh district last night.
